Dear Friends of Judo,
It is with extreme sadness we announce that Larry Kaneshiro Sensei passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 26, after almost a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry has been with San Jose Buddhist Judo Club since 1989.
A true Judoka in his spirit, his “Aloha” personality and friendship always reflected in his continuing efforts and leadership in making events like the “Sensei Memorial” so successful. His love and dedication to Judo and the club enabled students to learn and compete at their highest levels. Sensei Larry’s overall contributions to the Judo community will be greatly missed by the San Jose Buddhist Judo Club and the bay area.
A memorial service for Larry Kaneshiro Sensei will be on Sunday, August 10 at 5:00 PM at the San Jose Buddhist Church and Gym.
