I regret to inform you of the passing of Robert (Bob) Johnson of the Pacific Northwest, on October 3, 2012.
Bob was a silent supporter of judo. Working in the back room, helping with pooling or registration or kata or writing articles on both local and national judo tournaments, you could always count on him for his support. He was one of the behind the scenes judokas during the 1990 Goodwill Games. He also served as an technical official for judo at 1996 Olympics Games in Atlanta.
He supported the life membership programs of USJF and USA Judo for himself and several members who could not afford the cost of this membership.
He had been in poor health for the past few years.
Thanks to Charlie Brown for the obituary of Bob.
