Coaches Clinic at Junior Nationals

2005 USJF Junior National UPDATE:


We will have a USJF Coaches "E" Level Coaches Certification on Thursday,
July 7 at the Host Hotel (Marriott Irvine). Paperwork will be out shortly.
To be a certified coach, you must have all requirements besides the coaches
certification clinic done before hand. See below for the paperwork you need
to bring to the clinic.

Please note: the item that takes the most time is the Background Screening.
Please submit your background screening application with fee to the USJF office
this week or ASAP. It takes from 4 to 6 weeks for processing.

Go to the "Forms" section of the USJF web site ( and
download the USJF Background Screening Application form. You must use Acrobat
Reader to complete the form and print it out, or you must use a typewriter.
No handwritten forms will be accepted. Complete instructions are on the form.


For those wishing a USJF Level E Coaches Certificate you must fulfill all requirements
as noted on the USJF Coach Application Form. Bring copies of this information
to the clinic if you are taking this clinic so that you can coach at the Junior
Nationals. This includes,

  • Minimum Rank Shodan as demonstrated by Copy of
    Rank Certificate (USJA, USJF or USJI)
  • Minimum Age 18 years as demonstrated by Proof of
    Birth Date
  • One year time in grade*
  • Signed USA Judo Code of Ethics, Standards and
    Conduct Agreement,
  • Current USJF Judo member in good standing as
    demonstrated by Copy of Current USJF Judo Card
  • Updated, Complete USJF Judo Coach Application Form
  • Completed USJF Judo Background Screening
  • Provide Passport Size Photo for the badge
