RE: Call for Programs: Special Projects

At its meeting on Thursday 21 April 2005, the USJF Development Committee (DC)
decided to reserve some funds allocated to it in order to support special
projects in fiscal year 2005-2006. The purpose of this memo is to solicit
proposals for those special projects for funding consideration prior to our
July 2005 meeting.

We are especially interested in the following types of special projects to
fund in 2005-2006:

  1. The development of leaders of judo, especially organizational leaders
  2. The creation of products that can be used as giveaways or for nominal prices
    to beginning judo students
  3. The creation of technical resources for teaching judo, competition, coaching,
    kata, or refereeing

In addition the DC is willing to receive proposals for any type of special
project that will aid in the development of judo in the US. This would include
the consideration of proposals to fund teams to training and/or competition
activities domestically or internationally.

All individuals, dojos, yudanshakais, or other entities are encouraged to submit
a proposal. Proposals should include no more than 5 pages of single space
text, and should include the following sections:

Description of the project
Significance of the project
Project logistics – personnel, detailed planning for implementation
Budget – including revenues and cost sharing, if any, and expenditures

Proposals should be submitted to me electronically in a format readable by
Microsoft Word, and should be received no later than 30 June 2005.

We sincerely hope that all who are interested will submit a proposal for consideration
for funding. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks.
