Uniform Sanctioning Procedures
Uniform Sanctioning procedures were passed at the USJI Board of Directors meeting in Ft. Lauderdale on May 1, 1997. These new sanctioning procedures insure that procedures are absolutely uniform for USJI, USJF, and USJA. The same
procedures, same waiver, same forms, etc., must be used.
Prior to the final procedures being approved, a new waiver form was approved by our insurance companies and it is required that all sanctioned tournaments use this form. Please review this waiver form and make sure that you are using it for your
events.
| Major Procedural Changes |
- Requirement that a draft entry form be submitted for review prior to its being distributed to the public, reviewed by the sanctioning body, and that the sanction number and name of the sanctioning body or bodies be printed on
the entry form that is distributed to the public.
- Requirement that the terms and conditions for a sanction be made part of the Application for Sanction.
- Requirement that once an event has been granted a sanction, that an actual "Sanction Certificate" be sent to the organizers, along with another copy of the Terms and Conditions, and that the sanction be displayed in public view
during the event.
- Requirement that "multiple martial arts" events will not be sanctioned.

A complete sanctioning package, including all of the necessary application and report forms, was sent to every State Governing Body in September. The USJF and USJA are also using the exact same sanctioning package.
The information below is the complete text of the sanctioning package that was distributed in September. For the appropriate application and report forms, please contact the USJF National Office. |
