Teacher Institute Committee
, Chair Duty Statement: Provide current information and support to our membership concerning judo in general, provide certification, provide a means of continuing education to upgrade our instructors. Methodology: Lectures, seminars, mini clinics, articles submitted to our magazine, books, book endorsements, and now video tape production. Accomplishments: Over a dozen articles have been submitted to the JF magazine. A Certification Clinic has been held at each of the JF Jr. Nationals since 1996 when I was elected. We now certify in two areas PACE and the USJI levels of Competency. Through our director, , we were able to reach an agreement with the USJI to certify at levels E and D. We have endorced two books for use as textbooks, Through the efforts of our former President we have started a video tape section and produced our first video "Get a Grip". We have also conducted several mini-clinics. Future Projects: We hope to produce a videotape section. Increase the number of clinics as well as widen the areas in which they are conducted in. We hope to identify clinicians who can provide Certification clinics. We will attempt to produce a working manual and an examination for certification. |
