DUTIES
The KATA DEVELOPMENT AND CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE shall be
responsible for the promotion of the study of katas (forms), and of the
criteria for certifying kata instructors and conducting kata competition.
The Board of Kata Examiners shall be established to examine and certify
kata instructors in accordance with the procedures developed.
The committee shall schedule and conduct clinics, programs,
training course or seminars/workshop to educate and disseminate the organized
standards of internationally-acceptable katas. Also, the Committee shall
provide such assistance and guidance to its members as many be necessary
to conduct its affairs and promote it programs.
COMPOSITION
The Kata Development and Certification Committee shall
consist of not less than (10) members, and selection is intended to demonstrate
a fair representation across the continental United States.
The Board of Kata Examiners shall consist of not less
than five (5) members to include the chairperson. Each member of the board shall maintain
Current Corporation membership, minimum rank of 6-dan for male and 5-dan
for female, and such other requirements as deemed necessary to establish
and maintain the certification program.
CERTIFICATION
Under the credentials of the Board of Kata Examiners, the
Committee shall establish the certification program for
kata instructors which criteria shall address the various classes and categories.
