Remembering Sensei Tsuyoshi Miyazaki (1931-2016)

Sensei Tsuyoshi Miyazaki passed away in the evening of Friday the July 29, 2016. He was 85 years old and died of heart failure at Howard University hospital with Janet, his beloved wife of 57 years, nearby.

Sensei Tsuyoshi Miyazaki passed away a few days ago. He had been the captain of the Keio University Judo team, and a three-time winner of the Outstanding Athlete of the All Japan Championships.

New USA Judo Executive Director announced

USA Judo has announced the appointment of Mr. Keith Bryant. Bryant is well-known in Olympic circles, as he has been involved with all aspects of the US Olympic Committee. USA Judo announced this change as athletes are readying for their trips to Brazil to compete in the Games, commending the work of Jose Rodriguez and wishing the new Executive Director well as he takes up his new role on August 15.

Interview with Angelica Delgado

Angelica DelgadoWhen she was nine years old, Angelica Delgado began learning judo under the guidance of her father, Miguel Delgado, a former Cuban judo Olympian. It was a great start, because sixteen years later, she has qualified for the United States Olympic Judo team, and will be traveling to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
