2014 National Championships in paradise

by Hayward Nishioka, Chairperson, National Coach Certification & Development Subcommittee on Thursday, September 5th, 2013

2014 will be a momentous year for The United States Judo Federation. We will once again be hosting the Grassroots Judo™ Junior, Youth, Team, & Kata National Championships, an event we alternately share with our Grassroots Judo™ partner the USJA. The 2014 event will be held in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii, often referred to as paradise.

Differing from the past, the 50th State Judo will be adding two long awaited categories of competition, Seniors and Veterans to these National Championships. We are asking each of you to put the word out to your membership as we would like to have a good showing, especially in the two new added areas of Seniors and Veterans.

In addition to this event being in a fun-filled vacation spot this is a chance to boost a long neglected area of development for our members, that of Seniors and Veterans. These wins are important in developing great future champions and leaders who will carry on our tradition with the title of Senior and Veteran National Champions that can be added to their promotion resumes.

See you in Honolulu!
