A clinic with Yoko Tanabe

On November 20 we had the pleasure of hosting a clinic with Yoko Tanabe as the guest clinician. Tanabe sensei is a 3 time Olympic medalist and a 6 time All Japan Champion. She is also a member of the Japanese Olympic Committee and a professor at Nihon University. Tanabe sensei held an outstanding clinic in which she taught some of her favorite newaza and tachiwaza. There was a junior session which was attended by 20 participants. In the afternoon the intermediates and seniors took the mat. The afternoon session had 47 participants. Fun was had by all. Everyone was impressed by Tanabe sensei’s explanations and demonstrations of her outstanding technique.
